    Default RT1000p owners

Okay these fell into my lap over the weekend. Being broke, I had to unload my RT800i's real quick to pay for them. I'm not a big fan of "I" variation of these speakers. And since the tweeters in the 1000p's will match my other speakers better, it only made sense to get them.

I've heard mixed opinions on these particular speakers so I wasn't sure what to expect. I hooked them up and immediately could tell a difference. Surrounds were much more convincing. Having better matched tweeters really made an impact.

I also started to get a sense of a delicate midrange so I thought, for fun, I'd hook up them up as fronts. No way they could sound better than my RT16's. After getting everything in place and nearly throwing my back out, I put on a fav demo disc, transformers 3, and I was taken back by how good the 1000's were. They had all of the detail of my 16's but a more sculpted midrange. Overall output and dynamics were about the same. Only issue is that one of the amps is bad. I had no plans for using the powered subs anyway so this isn't a deal breaker. I do hope to get it repaired or replaced at some point though...

So in the end, I've found a speaker that I can be happy with for a long time. And I was already thrilled with the 16's.

Does anyone else own the RT1000p's? If so, how do you feel about them?

No one? I've been reading up on old posts and it looks like only a few people actually enjoy these speakers. Kind of surprising. They really remind me of Kef's XQ speakers from the early 2000's. Makes me wonder how much better the RT2000p's and RT3000p's are....

I had a set once. Liked them, liked the RT800i more (still have) like the A9's more.

2000i's wasnt that impressed with, I haven't had a chance to hook up my 3000's yet but I hear they're a whole other kind of beast.

I hear good things about the new RTiA series. Would love to listen to a set someday.

    Enjoy your speakers!
As for the difference moving up the RT line of that series, I can say from experience the RT3000p are much better speakers. Essentially RT55s with external subs. They're really quite impressive.
