A true audio legend. Rather one likes it or not....he brought audio to the masses. Once the average consumer got sick of the BIG BOX speakers of yesteryear messing up the decor, Bose put audio in the rooms of many. We all know someone that has a Bose product...rather we like listening to it or not. In terms of business....pure brilliance! RIP

I had a pair of Bose 301's back about the '85 / '86 time frame. I enjoyed them, they were fun and not half bad. They got sold and my trip into Polk land began with the Monitor 10.

The 1980's Bose speakers had a solid lineup and matched up to alot of speakers of that era quite well. The 501 and 601 models were fairly big and pretty solid. Of all the Bose models, the 80's 601 model impressed me the most with the twin 8" woofers and four tweeter/mids. Then they started scaling down the speakers, didn't keep up with the move to polymer type drivers and so on. Everything just got cheap with their lineup.

Anyway, RIP Dr. Bose! This was the best you created IMHO...

I did watch the video and it was pretty good. I find his closing comments that start at the 54:10 mark to the end to be excellent! If you only watch a portion of the video, jump to the 54:10 mark. Great stuff, not on speakers, but life!

I enjoyed all of it, but you are correct about that being the best part.
