    Default Fantasy Football anyone?

I was wondering if there's a Polkie FF league, and if so, can I get my name on the list for this season?

I have been playing in a relatively low cost redraft league (about $75 a season) since 2004, and have been commish for two keeper leagues since 2005, all of which are on the RTSports.com site and still going strong. All those leagues allow us to flex any position including QB, which essentially makes them two QB leagues, but I like to have one "normal" league to play in also.

    Go Steelers!

Speaking for myself, the words "Fantasy" and "football" don't occupy my brain at the same time.

I'm not sure of a Polk league, but I have an ESPN keeper league. It is a full IDP league as well so you draft defensive players as well. We have one team that needs a new owner.

Thanks for the reply and the offer, but I am afraid that IDP is out of my league, so to speak. I never played in one, so have no idea of the strategy or rankings, and I don't really have the time to get booked up on it. Multiple regular leagues aren't that much more trouble than one since you can pretty much use the same cheatsheet, depending on the scoring rules, of course.

IDP isn't bad really. Get the bare minimum in regards to CB's and DL's, and fill the rest of your D spots with starting MLB's. The average starting MLB gets anywhere from 6-10 tackles a game, along with the occasional fumble recovery, INT, etc. That's always served me well in IDP leagues anyway.

I think I would like it once I knew what I was doing, but not having followed D's much, I would probably end up drafting guys that are on the PUP and/or retired already. Seriously, I almost did that at my first draft.

The loser of our league has to proudly display an old crappy football that says "Ray Rock" on it. It is in honor of a guy who drafted Ray Childress in the first round years ago. Ray Childress was a D lineman for the Houston Oilers. Needless to say, he came in last.

My two keeper leagues are kind of unique. We flex any position, so you can start two QBs, or 3 RBs, we play one point per reception, and you can keep up to 3 players from the previous year, you give up a draft pick two rounds higher than where they were drafted last season, so you can't keep them forever and all the big names from the first couple rounds are released each year.

But what's really different is that they are 12 team leagues and the top 4 teams make the playoffs, we play two rounds of the playoffs to determine the winner of each league, then the winners play each other in the Super Bowl, which means that they can possibly have some of the same players on each team. The 8 teams that don't make the playoffs play each other in the Toilet Bowl where they can win $25 and the right to choose their draft spot for the next season. The winner of the TB chooses his spot first, then the runner up chooses, and so on. The teams that compete in the actual playoffs, all pick last, so generally end up with spots 9 through 12.

We also do preseason trades of keepers and draft spots. It's a lot to keep up with but it's fun. The drawback is that online mock drafts don't mean much since we can flex a QB and so QBs go early and often.
