    Default Great News Today

I'm going to be published! Sort of...

One of my professors, the head honcho in my University program, has requested that he use my project from last Spring on his website sometime next semester. The website is designed as a tool for all future students in the program and as a type of continuing education for current educators from the University as well. The program is already very highly regarded, and the University has even received calls as far away as El Paso from administrators BEGGING to have just one graduate from our program join their ranks as educators.

While this isn't the pinnacle of exposure, it's still going to look great on my resume AND serve as a tool for everyone following in my footsteps. This is also a guy that is probably in the top 5 of my most respected people. To know that he thought that highly of my work has put me in a great mood all day.

    That's awesome to hear.

It's like opposite of that "How I Met Your Mother" episode. Had to be there I guess.

    Congrats.

This time next year I'll hopefully be gainfully employed as a high school math teacher. The road has been long and hard due to many factors, but I'm finally seeing the light at the end. The goal right now is to teach at that level for about 5 years, send the wife to law school during that time, and then go back to school for a doctorates in Math so I can teach at the University level. Things might change, but I've always had a strength in teaching math that pairs well with my love to teach. This isn't the first time I've impressed in my program, but it is the first time I'm getting this kind of recognition.

Good job! What school do you attend? ...just wondering..because during my Senior year in High School I had a slight intrest in attending North Texas State because of their great music/percussion program. However, it was a far fetched idea given I'm from MI. Just wondering if that is your school and your impressions of the Univ.

That's awesome man! I have enough trouble trying to teach 8th graders about the relationships between spheres, cones and cylinders.

That would be it, albeit under a different name now. I'm not overly impressed with the upper Administration, but to be honest, I haven't been at any campus I've been to. Like every school, the experience is dependent on the major you choose. The overall math program frustrates me some, but the teaching program is stellar and is a big reason I feel I can finally get out of school. I've developed great relationships with the staff here. They really do have your best interest in mind with everything they do and are not afraid to go out of their way to achieve it.

    Congratulations DSkip..
If I were to choose a subject to teach in school it would be Chemistry that way if all fails I could cook Chrystal Meth, like in Breaking Bad..

Awesome news. I graduated from UNT in 2007. If I decide to pursue a graduate degree in tech writing, it'll be from there.

    Best to you!
