Morning guys...have a question! What are the differences between Peerless...sl 1000...sl 2500? Was it production dates, application? Is one recommended over the other as far as performance?

The Peerless Tweeters were made by, you guessed it, Peerless. Most were made in Denmark until they began manufacturing them here in the US as well. Then the mold broke, and they ceased production. They were and are still highly regarded. Polk developed the SL1000 to replace the Peerless. The Sl2000 was a further refinement of the SL1000. Both suffered from a rather nasty spike around 12-13 KHz. Polk then spent a lot of time and money developing the SL3000 and it's little brother the SL2500. They were much better than the previous Polk offerings and didn't suffer from the resonance spike. Once again, Polk invested time and money to develop their ultimate replacements, the RDO194-1, and the even better RDO198-1. The RDO-194-1 is a direct replacement for the SL1000, and SL2000. The RDO-198-1 is the direct replacement for the SL2500 and SL3000. There is no direct replacement available for the Peerless. You can find them used on eBay, or you can purchase clones sold by Midwest Speaker.

Thanks for the info!...Came across quite a few of these new in box stored away in a repo storage facility that I was helping a real estate buddy clean out! He had no use or interest in them so I gladly took em off his hands...The SL2500 looks like the ones in my 10b's
