Default Need a repair shop in NY for Jolida CDP

Yesterday my CDP stopped responding (wont read disc) plus it wont open or close the door.

It appears In-House Services Co www.stereorepair.net is longer in business.

Can someone please recommend a shop in the tri-state area.

    Thanks,

Send it to Jolida, they are in Maryland.

Before you do, you might want to remove the cover and take a look as it sounds like something is jammed. The tray is operated by its own motor with a worm gear, which mates with a circular gear. There are no belts.

I second sending it to Jolida - Maryland. I originally purchased my unit through Jolida.net (China), when I had a problem with it Jolida.net was of NO use, couldn't find any info or get any responses to my emails concerning repairs.

I decided to try Jolida Maryland, I told them I bought the unit second hand (didn't want them to know it was the Chinese Jolida), once they got the unit they informed me it was an imposter but they would fix it anyway. My unit wouldn’t read a disk or it would stop after a couple of songs, I was told it was a power supply issue and they also had to re-solder a bunch of cold joints.

I'm glad this mess has kinda sorted itself out. But an "impostor"? Well if by that they meant that it was exactly the "same" machine they sold for years but was no longer under their new" moniker (.com), then sure. But even during the suit they were still selling their stock from the Shenda factory they were suing which was "their" manufacturer for years and years as they were looking to establish a new manufacturing base so as to deal with the break with Shenda over intellectual property (who owned the designs .net had been manufacturing since the '90s for the U.S. and Maryland, specifically). So I'd take that with a grain of salt. Inside your machine is a real Jolida.

In any case, I would agree that the OP should try the Maryland facility and see what they can do for you--probably safest at this point! The debate is no longer relevant since .com seems to have won the battle and they are using someone else to make their equipment now. The rest is just history at this point.

I'm 99% sure their service department is M-F only.

Go ahead and remove the top cover. There's 2 screws on each side and 2 in the back. If you don't see anything obvious, power it up and open the tray. Can you hear the motor working?

Dead quiet when powered up? Does the blue LED come on at all?

Did the tray open? It's a pretty quite player, but you will hear the motor working with the cover off.

The blue power light comes on and dashes on the display. The tray won't open or play a disc. The player won't respond from the remote or buttons on the player.

Before it died a disc was playing but I paused it. When I hit play again it just stopped responding to the remote and was stuck in pause. From there I just unplugged it over night and it won't respond to any command.

I did take the cover off to see if anything was jammed or if I could see anything. The player is quiet and I don't hear any noise from the player.
