two questions --- 1 - what is a dry deck? -- and 2 - why does that look so ugly -- i mean i dont know what its technical features are... it may be a great deck, but by god its hideous looking.

1. dry deck-deck that puts out no actual power...hence, you have to have amps...or no music
the term is used a lot down here...but it just might be a difference b/t texas and new york...i dunno
2. its a $1000 deck going for $350...its so ugly, no one will buy it...so they have to make it really cheap so ppl will buy it...

I dont know. I dont think its too bad looking. It does look a lot like a Denon and Ive always wanted a Denon head I just cant find a dealer anywhere (nor can I afford the usual $1200 price tag). Plus its got a nice price on top of that. Id consider buying it if I were looking to upgrade heads. But then I have no sense of style either! :D

The "dry-decks" are usually reffered to as what they are, a pre-amp for your car. At least around here that is why most people reffer to them as.

I also find it funny that eventhough I mentioned the fact that it is a rebadged Denon head unit in my original post, there are three more posts below it stating the exact same thing.
