Default Will this cable work for A9 & F/XiA6?

    Hi,

I just moved into a house with pre-wired HT. Knowing redo the wiring system is going to be difficult and expensive, I am hoping the existing cables will work for the Polk speakers I ordered. I know nothing about speaker cables and I apologize if this is a dumb question.

    Front speakers:

On the cable it reads: monoprice e320951 ulcl2 power limited circuit cable. 12awg x 2c standard

I have attached pics for both set of cables.

Can someone please tell me if they are compatible with the speakers (A9 & F/XiA6)?

Additionally, the previous owner has bi-wired 5.1 HT, but I've read that bi-wiring is useless. Any suggestion on this?

    Thanks!!!

They will work, but there is always something better in the audio world. Bi-wiring is probably useless 99.9% of the time, but I guess it is possible it might be the way to go in some rare case. Of course, if you ever bi-amp then you have the cables.

Copper is not copper and wire is not wire. Will it work? Sure. Is there better? Sure.

Your actually lucky they used 12 gu. in your pre wire. The co. I used to work for used 16 gu for any speaker lengths and or systems.I do believe it should be class 2 for in wall use but if it isn't do not lose any sleep over it.As said before it's there as long as they are intact use them ,if not long enough you could always dress them w/ a ready made wall plate for whatever connectors you choose to use.
