    Default Great News Yesterday

Our daughter (17 now) was born with Colic. It was rough. Carla had a job & went back to work for just 1 day after i told her to get done to stay at home with our daughter, because our daughters problems. When our daughter started school she had anxiety issues & was always sick. She missed alot of time from school. She spent many of times in hospitals & emergency rooms. Getting sick alot makes any parent feel helpless. We took her out of public schools in 3rd grade & home schooled her with a outfit out of California BOOKS-TEST & any other items needed to school her at home..time goes on..she has always had stomach issues. We have had her in doctors offices & emergency rooms even hospitalized for 3 days, with NOTHING. NOTTA....well July this year emergency room again. Normal puking 20 times or more. More test. More doctors. More bullsh-t....THIS WEEK SEPTEMBER. emergency room AGAIN. Different doctor. This doctor seemed very concern to the point he was sending test to Boston Mass-Portland-Me & Australia. We finally found out that her intestines were abnormal. They were twisting from not being attached where they were suppose to be. Dont understand why this wasnt caught years before STATES surgeon at MMC. They are going to operate & attach it so it wont twist. The surgeon was awesome with our daughter & we look forward to her operation & healing. We hope she can put on some weight & live a normal life. Our daughter has told us that she felt nobody believed her all those years. Her own sister would make puke sounds joking around. It caused some self esteem & anxiety issues we have had to face with over the years. She loves sports & we enrolled her in soccer & baseball which she missed practices because her stomach hurt too bad. Attachment 89977The surgeon says he foresees her not needing medications at all. So we are very happy. Took a picture of our daughter on picture day. She said she was sick & her anxiety was high that day. So this is good news to use

Wow! What a trooper she is! God bless all of you! I hope she does a complete turn around, and sets the world afire with her new confidence and energy! I can't stand hearing about children suffering. Breaks my heart and makes me feel stupid for complaining about my minor in comparison issues!

That's pretty astonishing, when TESTs have existed for years that could have seen that. A cross-sectional MRI of the entire system viewed by an expert should have shown that instantly?

Well, to tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of the local medical establishment. And I can believe that they've been negligent or self-assured. That's why my personal physician is not a MAN. Gender is a variable that for males errs on the "arrogant" side. My doctor actually LISTENS and LISTENS seriously and honestly to all of HER patients! And that's IMPORTANT!

It was certainly important for your daughter. I'm really to happy to hear that she'll finally be able to live a more normal life. That must be a relief! Hope everything is uneventful and goes smoothly.

Thank you for all your kind responses. If you all were to meet her she is a joy. Fun to be around. Hates facebook. Doesnt do drama. . From the second she wakes up-she hits the receiver button & the music is on. She loves the 70's music & up. Knows more stinking music than i. She is a wonderful young lady now. It saddens me to know she suffered all those years. Every doctor brushed it off. We switched doctors recently & Carla had a long talk with the Lady doctor. She is our new doctor & i owe a big thanks to her. When she heard the results of these we went back to see her & she had tears in her eyes. She is new to the St Marys Hospital & i will be recommending her to others i know----thank you all again for your kind responses. I will keep you updated on the operation which is Tuesday. So no rough housing for her for awhile (her boyfriend likes 4wheeling)

Glad she's good, I can empathize a bit since I too have some intestinal issues (Crohns), but my problem did not go undiagnosed nearly as long as hers did.

Happy thoughts and prayers for the surgery date sent!

Thanks again all. I will keep thread updated. Carla & I are taking time off to be with her. She is nervous because she has never had a surgery & asked us both to be there for her. It works out well as Carla has college classes on Wed within 20 mins from hospital. Today she has been sick again. It's one of those things that happens twice a week or so & she can hold food down & has been happening more & more the older she has got. So this surgery is a BIG PLUS.

Thanks very kindly. Big day tomorrow for her & us. Were gearing up tonight. From what I understand it's a 1.5-2 hour surgery & it's fairly easy operation & the surgeon noticed my Marantz shirt & got talking about his Dynaco tube amplifier he has, which i enjoyed listening to his impressions :) So I'm looking forward to her recovery. All she cared about bringing is her music device thingy that she has & clothes. Carla will be staying overnights with her & I get to hang out with the dogs. Lol.

Bless all of you. She'll be fine, be able to put all this behind her, and have a normal happy life. Being a teenager is stressful enough without adding illness to the picture.

Well the 2+hour operation went well. She was in Barbra Bush wing by 2pm. She should be home by thurs/Friday hopefully. They took her Appendix out while they were in there, because they were located in the wrong area anyway. Re-arranged her intestines & attached them somehow so they are not twisting or folding. Malrotation of the intestings. She woke up thirsty & hungry so tomorrow morning she should be able to eat..she is a quick healer & a tuff little young lady. Thank you all for your kind words Randy

Glad to hear the operation went well. How wonderful that they've finally worked out what was causing her problems - how terrible that it took so long.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

The surgeon who did operation doesnt understand why it wasnt caught when she was 2months old-let alone after years of doctor visits-emergency rooms-hospitalizations..My wife is very upset with the doctors that have seen her for multiple issues--just give her some medications it'll go away!!
