Default Mitsubishi DA-15 Power Amp - any good?

One of these not too far from me for $300.

Back in the late 70's I wanted one of these so bad I could taste it.

Has anyone owned one or even listened to one?

I still think it's one of the coolest looking amps ever.

It looks like it could be from Darth Vader's "man-cave" system on the Death Star.

Probably used to listen to Iggy and the Stooges and Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music.

I've heard good things, but be careful because the speaker cable connectors are the worst design I've seen. They use this screw connector, but as you tighten the knob which closes the little "door", it tends to push out the wire/pin. I've never pick-up that amp for that reason as I would have to replace convert the speaker outputs.

Couldn't agree more about the speaker cable connectors. I picked this up for $80 and had it gone over. It had no power switch at all so one was installed on the back. It no longer has connections for 2 pairs of speakers and a IEC was installed.

From looking at it without doing research I bet its got a warm sound b/c of the two very large capacitors. Looks a lot like the early audio research digital amps.

I would use that just b/c I want to look at it.
offer the guy 200 for it.

A friend of mine has one of those with the huge meters that dock to the front of the power amp. Great sounding amp. I'm not familiar with the speaker connections. He never mentioned them.

    Check out the attached link.
