    From all your responses I think Hyperx for Class D would be the way to go. I'm looking into it but don't know if I can afford to build one. If I was to build one I would prefer a dual mono-block design or at least a dual power supply design.

    And then I would need to find or design a good pre-amp,

    Sorry all out a rope,lots of cement blocks though.
    I have used the Hypex modules with both dual mono and single beefy linear supplies,both with equally good results.I'm currently building a pair of mono's with switch mode supplies which should make for an interesting comparo.

    I just have to get the AC line cords hard wired in then I can give them a test drive.
