    I would suggest the Pass INT-150 but it's out of your budget and I know it would give any of the suggestions so far a run and would probably prevail {smiley}

I bought an LFD LE IV last year and really like it. You can find them used for about 2500. Very minimalistic design built like a tank, extremely cool to the touch, dead silent and sweet sounding. Not the power of some of the other suggestions but for my use its a great integrated amp.

Man, this thread has me combing the depths of the internet for different gear, particularly a different integrated.
I must say the new Teacs look sweet, especially the Al-3000.

Another one that caught my eye:
    http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=VISV237

I would only consider either of these used though to keep down the $....

Vincent is great equipment and maybe something I'll buy one day.

I know Doro likes them so that's saying a lot.

Vincent.....not a fan. They look cool enough but not satisfied with the way they handle low bass. Very muddy sounding, slow, imho. That's just me though, others may dig them.

I always felt like the MF integrated that Miller Lite Scott has punched way above it's weight. Think he has the A308 if memory serves.

We did a cap upgrade on his MF. It's punching at an even higher level now :)

The HK990 looks wicked for $2000. RCA, XLR, and digital inputs with signal processing or analog pure direct. Power is 150wpc at 8 ohms, and doubling into 4 ohms (dynamic power rated at an additional 30%), with a maximum current rated at 200A. Maximum power consumption is 1000W, so seems to have a solid dual-transformer power supply with lots of power available to the amplifier section.

    http://www.harmankardon.com/estore/h...HK%20990_HK_US

Overall, I was able to accomplish with the single-box HK 990 almost everything that I could with the combination of Meridian Reference 861, Parasound Halo JC 2 BP, and McIntosh Labs MC303. Was the H/K less potent than the Mac? Yes, but I had to force myself to listen at volume levels high enough that I could hear a difference—much higher than I would ever actually listen to music for pleasure. Was it less transparent than the Halo JC 2? Yes, but my ability to hear that difference depended on the recording. Was it less capable than the Meridian? Yes, the Meridian provides more channels and more processing options. Still, I could go from one setup to the other and not feel that the HK 990 was any less satisfying . . . with two-channel music. - Kalman Rubinson from Stereophile

Been mentioned by Zingo, a bit over budget. This unit has plenty of power for anything you throw at it. I love mine

I'd be interested to know what you go with Troy. Keep us posted. I'm actually contemplating a change in that sort of direction also. I think my VK30/A21 setup may be overkill for the room I have and the type of listening I do these days. Also not excited about keeping stocks of good sounding NOS tubes for the VK30.

After taking a peek at the MF 300 it looks like a pre amp and an amplifier not really a IA

Is that basically what it is? It really is nice looking OK beautiful

Amp/preamp in one chassis=integrated amp. The MF has a separate power supply box for the transformers and rectifiers, but the preamp and amp are in the same box. Internally, the preamp section is on a separate board with nice quality jumpers in between. This is probably one of the best examples of how to do it right, but there have been many integrated amps through the years that have basically took an existing preamp design and stuck it inside the same chassis with an existing amplifier design.

BTW, I was very, very close to throwing in a $2100 bid on that Tri-vista 300, but I decided to hold off and think about it for awhile longer.

    A5 int - awesome choice!

You are gonna love what this does for your 2-channel game!

I am interested to see what it does for my SRS 2 speakers, especially compared against the Dodd separates.

Which Dodd separates do you have?

The A5 will have plenty of grunt and control for the SRS 2s - so it should come down to what sonic signature you like.

Be sure to post up your thoughts! Should be a fun comparison.

Great choice. I've got the A5 pre & used an A5 int for a bit. Only issue I've had is that the phono stage died on it, which of course happened after I sold my Audio Research phono pre.
