Default North Texas gathering - again.

In the spirit of keeping the great group we've formed in the area, I'm going to plan to host another get together on January 25. My home is welcome to anyone who wants to come. I have too much fun at these to wait until LSAF. Hopefully with the extended notice word will spread and we can see some new faces too.

I am about 15 minutes East from the I-35 marge in Denton, 15 minutes West of I-75 in McKinney.

Scott, if you've still got that passive pre it would be interesting to hear now that I have some amps to use it with. Otherwise, bring whatever you want. The more important thing is just seeing everyone again. I can give you a call when the time gets closer and figure out if anything would be a repeat showing, but I honestly think most of your gear we haven't seen/heard before.

I'm in. I'm not gonna drag the Magies out for this, especially since Skip already has some. I will bring the Oppo 105 though, may even have the Modwright upgrades done by then.

I am planning on bringing the full rig up to LSAF though, and by then expect to have moved up the Maggie chain to the 3.7...

When the time gets closer, we can talk Ron. As far as I'm concerned, all you need to do is get the Rooster to travel 15 minutes West that day.

I'm down. I'd love to get my ushers modded by Danny before everyone comes over, but I think it's going to have to wait until LSAF at the earliest. Working on getting some Be tweeters I hope, which is the first step in the upgrade.

Ron, Halen's gonna skip the wedding and just show up to the honeymoon. I tried to explain to him that there might not be much honey if he misses the wedding, but he wouldn't listen.

Skip any of your amps have balanced inputs?

The Passive Pre (Prometheus TVC) and a Behringer SRC2496, that has been modified for stereo use by Audiosmile (out of the UK). I'm using the Behringer as an upsampling DAC. Both are easy to transport.

I could also bring the EZ as Pie speakers I got from sucks2bme in 09' which Russman sold originally back in 06'

    Russman's Original For Sale Thread - http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/show...s-Pie-speakers
    Speaker Build Pages - http://fredt300b.smugmug.com/gallery...3597&k=ZrzGgLW

They sound decent and are pretty good starter speaker for a 2 channel system, if anyone wants to hear them.

If there is going to be some Polk speakers there, I can also bring on of my B&K's. Some folks might not have heard why a lot of folks talk about B&K and Polks.

Glad to see those speakers are still getting some use. I originally bought those from Russ and moved them on to Keith when we moved into a smaller place with less rooms. Seeing those brings back memories, and there's a certain sound that the paper woofer creates that is lost on alot of higher end speakers...

Sounds like those pi speakers are a must bring now. That guy is a regular at LSAF, but he has shown horn speakers each year that do not impress me. It's be interesting to hear those as a comparison.

My monos are unbalanced only. Perhaps someone else has one with balanced that can be brought.
