    Default Looking for pre-amp suggestions

I knew that somehow this would happen. :)

I collected all the pieces for my setup (see my sig), but currently every now and then my Denon just shuts off with a blinking red light. Typically this happens when I play Skyrim and there is a heated fight with tons of sounds going on. I am assuming it's just not able to juice the speakers properly, so it would seem I need a pre-amp?

If that's the case, could anyone suggest one they are using, especially with the Denon AVR-E300 that I own. What things should I look for that are key in a pre-amp? I am also not looking to spend a fortune, but a high quality signal/sound are always good to have.

    Thank you ahead of time.

You don't need a pre-amp, you need a regular amp. Your problem is your receiver is entry level and has no pre-outs to even add an amplifier. Kill 2 birds with one stone and find a used Pioneer elite SC series receiver.

Yes, your Denon is running out of power and going into protection. A more powerful receiver that includes preouts for all channels will allow you the flexibility of adding an external amp in the future.
