    Default Parenthood

    I never thought I'd punish my son by telling him he couldn't brush his teeth. Even this one has me puzzled. What kind of a father am I?


    Well, he got permission from the misses to go to the bathroom after getting in trouble and proceeded to brush his teeth on his own. Proud of the little bugger actually. He actually wanted to brush his teeth, not just use it as an excuse to get out of bed/trouble.

    You're a parent, not a friend. Your job is to set and enforce boundaries. You seem to be doing something right, the results speak for themselves

    Parenthood........probably the hardest job in life but also the most rewarding. I am amazed on a daily basis how proud my 2 girls make me.

    And equally amazed by how upset they can make us over the smallest things!!! All part of the learning process (as a parent and as a kid).

    I have a 3 year old, a 2 year old and expecting one in late Feb. Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed. Also, sometimes I feel like we aren't getting through to them and they just won't listen. We, however, do our best to keep pressing through and enforcing the rules.

    Just when I think we are doing a terrible job, we'll get a comment like, "Wow, you're boys are so well behaved." or the babysitter will say something like our kids are the easiest of all her families, and I'm like....ok, maybe we'll be fine.

    They are the joy of my life and I'm gonna miss them in a few years, so I'm doing everything I can now to enjoy them. And boy do the make me laugh!!!
