It gets more interesting: look at the pic of just the speaker. It might be an optical illusion, but they appear to have laid the wood on top of the carpet, which would make it a calculated decision. Certainly the opposite of what I've seen in the past.

Here is a blog on the room, treatments, etc.
    http://marten.se/blog/tag/coltrane-supreme-2/

There is another photo that shows the room from further back from the seating position You are correct. The room is entirely carpeted, but they put down a small section of hard floor surface in between the listening spot and the speakers. Maybe the room was acoustically dead after all the treatment and needed a bit of liveliness added.

Even more photos at this blog:
    http://cybwiz.blogspot.com/2014/01/m...with-pass.html

Strangely, most of the photos floating around of the various Marten speakers show them showcased in rooms with hard floors. Perhaps they are designed to sound best in Scandinavian homes with hard floors?

I didn't realize it was a portable demo room and the pics are in a hotel meeting room, tis the reason for the hardwoods on the carpet. I thought it was someones listening room.

    Very nice

BTW, in case anybody isn't aware, those Marten speakers above have a retail price of something close to $500k. They have taken the title of "world's most expensive speaker" away from the previous Coltrane Supreme which was something like $360k. Who buys these things?

Also, those room photos are from right now at CES. If your near Vegas, go give them a listen ;)

Well, shucks, I was wrong. I was misled by some misinformed website.
    I actually just found this:

I hope those people that are profanely rich & buy $100,000 speakers,
are also giving $100,000 to their favorite charities too.
sorry about the political statement, but my moral conscience had to say that.

I wouldn't call that political. However, charity does begin at home, and if I am not happy with my stereo I will not feel like helping others.

more pics please of everybody else's high end stuff

my gear is only "entry" level audiophile stuff.
I like to keep my P/E(price/earnings) ratios low with my equipment, my P/A(price/audiophile value) ratios include stuff like: Polk Lsi15's, Inifinity Kappa 7.1, Music Hall a70.2, etc.

Folks with high net worth are generally very charitable if for no other reason than the tax benefits.

    More high-end? Eight-track!

Good catch Jesse, I'd say ole' pfb's liquid cash is starting to dry up. My guess is that he has had an inheritance, or an insurance payout, or maybe even has hit some kind of lottery winnings.

Regardless of how he came into a bundle, it won't be long..."a fool and his money"... Maybe then we won't have to tolerate any more of his "Hey, look at me, I've just spent 10k on a pair of cables" threads.

Isn't this the DAC that PFB had sold, and UPS screwed him out of $4000. ??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PS-Audio-per...item4ace7c8cdb

Looks to me like it's still for sale, maybe he has two or three of these to sell also.
