Default CHT 500 - Issue, in need of advice

Thank you for reading my post. I hope I posted this in the right section.

Just purchased a refurb Polk CHT500 for the OfficialPolk Ebay Store.

    Current Setup -

    AVR Pioneer Elite VSX-52
POLK CHT500 - using it as a L/C/R since I have 2 separate surrounds in the back of the room. Part of a 5.1 setup.

Issue...once I turn on my system the speakers produce a loud 'pop' and no sound is heard. Then if I turn the AVR off again it 'pops' while it shuts off once. BUT...if I turn it on the second time, it does not do this? Basically if the AVR is left off for a period of time, the system produces a 'pop' at initial turn on.

SO...i though it was my AVR. I took it to a certified Pioneer Elite Service Center and it check out perfect! They said it sounds like the CHT 500 may be the issue, and the culprit could be in the SDA crossover. They said it could be a impendance issue.

Any ideas here? I am really at a loss here. Thanks for all your help in advance!!

    Jeff

The loud pop would be indicative of the sound capacitors make going from uncharged to charged when you power up the AVR and again when they discharge at power down. There should be a muting relay that prevents the pop sound being sent to the speakers. That relay or relays will be in the controller.

CALL Polk to have the issue resolved.

Sorry for the delay. It sounds like SDA module may have an issue. They are sending me a replacement to try. Great service!
