Got the Parasound 2250 in today and hooked her in. Why did I not do this a long time ago. I'm blown away playing an SACD of Brothers in Arms (Dire Straits) and that is at low volume (kids are asleep).

Your receivers were probably soft clipping and you may not have noticed it. Bass suffers, and there may have been distortion in the higher frequencies. Our ears become adjusted to it. Now that you have the new amp, all the drivers are getting everything they need. Wait till you get the new inductors installed. Are you changing out the Polyswitches too?

Yes I am. Was going to originally, but got talked out of it because I was running them on the receiver. So, I just put new polys in back in 2009. Already have a set of Mills 0.5 ohms sitting around, so will put them in while I have it all opened up. Picked the amp up last night from my friends home where he runs his business. Incredible home theater room at his place. Runs a top of the line Marantz preamp with a set of Bryston amps. He is a Martin Logan dealer, so you can imagine what the speakers sound like. HT room is soundproof to the outside and inside is acoustically neutral. Beautiful. He only does super high end jobs like that, so he goes in and sets Home Theaters in multimillion dollar homes. I was telling my kids that the HT room alone cost more than our entire house.
