    Default I need some help

I found, in the bottom of a box, over the weekend, an old Heathkit tube amp that my dad built like 30 years ago. He said it wasn't working and the tubes were shot. Well, I got it working again but I need tubes. Apparently, the 6GW8/ECL86 tubes that it takes are not made by anyone anymore and the NOS supplies are running thin. I found a few used on eBay and I'm currently high bidder on one set but I think I will be sniped due to the popularity that these tubes command.

Apparently, they were a tube used in many Heathkit amps.

So what I need help with is finding a place that sells tubes. Antique Electronic Supply is a good source but I'm looking for other sources too. Does anyone have any other sites where I might find tubes and tube stuff?

Parts Express sells tubes, but I'm not sure if they're what you need.

www.thetubestore.com You can also ask around in tube forums to see if you can substitute those tubes with different designs.

Thought for a second this might be about selecting a Valentine's Day gift... :D

Here's a Heathkit group I've found helpful. Members are mostly into Ham Radio, but there are several audio enthusiasts...

You need to get out more if you are still dwelling on something like that.

BTW, you were all wrong on that one too.
