    Default Csi a6

I just replace my center channel speaker, CS-350-LS.
I a bit confused when I was trying to hook up this speaker - it has two inputs?
How or which speaker hook up do I used - I only had one set on my 350 - this has two?
    ~confused~

The speaker should have come with jumper straps (gold colored thin metal strips) between the two sets of binding posts - Positive (red) to positive and Negative (black) to negative. Then, you can just hook your receiver or amp up directly to one set of the binding posts and it will work great.

If you didn't buy the speaker new and the straps are missing, you can just connect a piece of good speaker wire between the two sets of binding posts. This way is actually preferred by most people here since the speaker wire gives a much better electrical connection.

The double pairs of posts are for bi-amping or bi-wiring your speaker. Most only use them if they're bi-amping and that's only done with two separate amps.

Choose either the top or bottom set of posts as they are connected by the brass jumpers. For a cheap performance tweak, replace the jumpers with short lengths of quality speaker wire and thank me later.

Thanks! They are brand new - straps are in place, but will later replace with good speaker wire....!

I need to try this out still and see if it improves my sound.

From the manual for the CSi5 (predecessor of the CSiA6), polk mentioned to connect to the top terminals when the straps are in place. I am not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Zane77, were you referring to connecting the speaker wires to the top terminals or to putting speaker wire in between the two sets of binding posts?

BTW, how are you liking the FXiA6? I am looking at getting a set of used fxi3, but a part of me wants to get the fxi5 or fxia6, but I don't think I will notice enough of a difference from the fxi3's to justify the cost difference (hard to find used fxi5 or fxia6 here in Canada...)

He was referring to whether you connect to the top or bottom posts. It doesn't matter, it shouldn't make any difference at all.

Upper or lower binding posts it doesn't matter, however make sure all four are screwed down real tight or your going to have either intermittent cut outs of one driver or no sound from something.

I thought that it shouldn't make any difference which posts you connect the wires to, so I found it weird that the manual was showing connecting to the top posts.

That may be due to convenience only - the top set will be easier to access with your body contorted under the big flat panel and bent to the side around your equipment rack and your arm strangely bent at an uncomfortable angle as you try to blindly feel for the binding posts....

That or bi-wire the sucker to match the mains in wiring...and soon, I'll get busy with a allen key and flip the ARC port and tweeter around...so it looks right.

Look at a photo of a CSiA6...see tweeter above ARC port ? In the manual it says if you want to angle the speaker upwards a bit, it's perfectly acceptable to seriously flip the entire speaker over...well...now the tweeter is lower than the ARC port...I wanna flip em around so it looks "right"

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through when you can just wedge something under the front to raise the angle....a slat of wood, piece of granite...big rubber footers.

Besides, if you did flip it, the port and tweeter location will make little difference in the sound and with the grill on....who's gonna see....or care ?
