$28.18 for the single remastered and $54.32 for the triple with the unreleased content.

The first companion disk seems pretty sweet as live Zep always does it for me.

Thanks for the news, keiko. This looks great. I will definitely get the 2-CD deluxe editions. The 1969 concert from Paris as the bonus disc with the first album looks especially good.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Technology has improved a lot in the past two decades since the last time the Zep catalog was remastered. However, one thing that has not improved in the last 20 years is Jimmy's hearing. I wish I could be 100% confident that 70-year old ears can do a good job with the remastering, but I'll believe it when I hear it....
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Agreed...witness the loud Rush remasterings that Alex had a hand in...

Mothership was dreadful and since Jimmy was responsible for that disaster I have no faith these will be any better.

Although no guarantee on quality, but Jimmy Page himself is remastering these and he has complained a lot over the years about the quality of the recordings. So hopefully they (him and his team, I believe Kevin Shirley is involved as well) get them right this time and let the music breath and let the original recordings stand on their own, albeit a bit of clean up and a nip or a tuck here and there. One can hope they will turn out in the same vein of the Beatles remasters. I know Jimmy has been wanting to do a proper remaster for quite some time.

    Fingers crossed

He was, but I don't think he spent the time to take proper control. Hopefully this time he does, if not, it's going to be a disappointment. This is probably the last time to get it right. I have been lucky in that I never bought into buying everything re-released.

I have the original 80's cd's and the non-shm Japanese box set with the mini-album packaging and that's it; except for BBC Sessions and How The West Was Won and Celebration Day. So I'm willing to take a shot with these. I believe I read Kevin Shirley is involved as well. What he and Page did with the DVD is phenomenal considering the dreck and almost completely deteriorated tapes they had to work with.

Mothership was hurried for release around that Holiday season. It's my understanding that Page has been working on this catalog remaster for atleast a year or more already.

Good Lord, I hope you are wrong Jesse. Don't need a set of wasted remasters. I'll buy III and listen, then decide whether to buy the others (unless my ears melt, then there will be no reason to buy the others anyway).

If I'm going to do this I'm going to do it right. At the least I'd get the deluxe vinyl. But the Super Deluxe versions look pretty sweet, includes hi-rez downloads and nice looking books. Amazon pre-order price is $114. Retail is $139 I believe. So I can save $75 by ordering in the pre-order, but of course if I do that I don't get to read a review of these first. That's a lot of money to spend and then be let down with the final product. So do I wait and spend more but know in advance if these are any good? Or save the $75 and order now?

Can always order now and return to Amazon if they suck.

I got some 180g Classic Record vinyl rips. Best versions I own, but that's just based on my opinion and ears. I doubt I'll spring for these, but just wanted to give you guys a heads-up. If they ever remaster the Zep catalog on SACD, I'm in.

I'm surprised in this day and age that they are not releasing these as SACD's.

Wonder who owns the label? I know Zep went trough 4-5 labels Swan, Atlantic and Warner Bros to name a few. So if Sony has anything to do with any of it that may explain why they have not been done. I think it was Warner Bros. that did "how the west was won" DVD-Audio back in the day as Warner was a DVD-A proponent. Once Sony washed their hands of SACD just how many titles have come out that were part of Sony? I can't think of any.
