    Default biamping HK 3490

    Hi There:

I have a music only set up for my bedroom, that consits in a Harman Kardon HK 3490 stereo receiver, a pair of Polks RTi A1 and a PSW111 sub.

My room is pretty small and I am satisfied with the sound I get from my equipment, but I was wondering, since the HK hast two
pairs of binding post to connect to a set of A or B, A and B speakers, is it posible to use both sets of connectors to biamp the Rti A1, since they allow that option?

I have checked the manual, but they do not mention either the possibility of biwiring or biamping speakers. I am not sure if that
option is only posible with HT receivers that have 7.1 or 9.1 channels.

Anyone has had experience with this receiver, care to comment?

Thanks in advance for the help,

Don't know why you'd want to. The speakers are an easy load and doubt that even wired straight up with the HK that they are using half the power the HK has.

I also have a HK 3490 and I tried the same trick with my RTiA7s for a lark one day, it wasn't an improvement at all, in fact I'd say it was a drawback, the output was a disappointment to say the least. Don't waste your time.

Why not try as all you have to do is remove the jumpers and run another set of speaker cables? If you don't like the sound, no problem!
