    So is a common ground amp still needed? Is 80 watts sufficient?

    Common ground is needed, and the 80 watts will make noise, but not shake the house. The amp supposedly is rated for use with 4-16 ohm speakers, but it's really not going to power them properly, especially if you like your music loud, and like a lot of bass.

    Adcom 535 and 545 would also work very well. Not as much as power as the 555 but are much cheaper. The 535's usually go for $100-$150. Should be plenty of them on Ebay.

    Will a Yamaha MX630 or MX 830 suffice? I seen a couple of them on ebay 1 for 150 and the other for 250.

    Adcom's don't have speaker protection relay and many don't use them for that reason but mine's are working so far without any blown speakers.

    which is a better speaker SDA 1A's or RTA 15's i have a chance of getting one or the other or both sets, and what should i pay of each set
