Sex Pistols compilation album, Flogging A Dead Horse. Love the cover.

Got a shipment from Amazon on Saturday....

Right now...remastered version of Wishbone Ash "Argus".

I like the muscianship - being a rock boy of the 70s.

Soundwise, it is not stellar...a bit flat & dull...

Son of Skip James - Dion DiMucci
    2007, Verve Forecast

Very listenable offering from a guy I grew up listening to. He still has that very distinctive phrasing anyone would associate with "Runaround Sue" or "The Wanderer". Solid backing on piano and organ in this offering.

    Turn Around - Jonny Lang
    2006, A&M

I can't remember the last time I listened to a complete album without ONE decent track to somewhat redeem it. This mess is full of every gimmicky beat, discordant harmony, and wandering lyric imaginable. Not worth the media it's burned on.

(Turn) back (around) to the blues, Jonny. You've seriously lost your way.

Peace, Love & BBQ - Marcia Ball
    2008, Alligator Records

One of our top 5, never miss, live acts. Marcia delivers. Her duet here with Dr. John is magical--both vocally and musically. Marcia loves what she does, and it shows.

Smile Wonderful new discovery for me..

    Pickin' on the Allman Bros
    Pickin' on Led Zeppelin

A bunch of talented studio musican types use intruments normally associatted with Blue Grass and play. Various professionals play different tracks. Not freelance freestyle stuff. I couldn't believe the results.
NO, its not Deliverance style banjo boogie. Its REALLY well played and mastered.
Intrumental, no singing and super clean recording.
Check them out on Amazon and listen to samples. I can only speak to the two that I have. ;)

Gentle Giant, "Octopus", tremendous recording! Engineer is Martin Rushant. Listened with some warm sake (excellent with seafood). How about specific drinks with specific music?
    Southern Comfort with Janis Joplin.

Back when I was MUCH younger, Southern Comfort was consumed when listening to a multitude of musicians...however in the spirit...

    Allman Brothers...Jack Daniels

Jimmy Buffett...Jose Cuervo (of course that was back in the day...he has his own brand now)
