Joe Walsh - You Bought It - You Name It (LP)

I've got the Joe Walsh Anthology "Look What I Did" on CD that has several tracks from this album: "Theme From Island Weirdos", "I Can Play This Rock & Roll", "I.L.B.T.'s" and "Space Age Whiz Kids". I just recently picked up this LP (just the original 1983 pressing) and will say this is an excellent recording...and soncially superior to the CD. I was suprised how good this album sounds.

i dug this one out after a long long shelving...very good on the sda's! st teresa has some very tasty and subtle guitar lines...spider web and right hand man are great...sometimes her voice is tough to take - ala sheryl crow..other times she's got some real chops..maybe i'll investigate some of her new stuff

Check out "How Sweet It Is"...basically and album of 60s and 70s R&B covers. Because of her work on this album, she was part of a docu/movie/concert DVD about the Funk Brothers..."Standing in the Shadows of Motown"....she was fantastic (great DVD as well). R&B suits her.

Another one I really like a lot is "Pretty Little Stranger". It has a slightly country flavor to it, and I enjoy it quite a bit...

Patty Lovelace - Up Against My Heart

Not crazy about the entire album...but it has 3-4 songs I enjoy.

She is one of 5 or 6 that I like. Sara Evans, Leann Rimes, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, Shania Twain are other female country artists I would put in the same category. I'll listen to some Faith Hill and Lee Ann Womack from time to time as well.

Oh yeah, I love to watch/listen to her sing that song on that disc. Such a soulful, sexy performance to me...
