Over on head-fi.org, there is an identical thread to this one that has 49 pages and has lasted for about 14 months.
Today's selection: Bjork - Debut
Yes - Close To The Edge
Santana - Abraxas - 2 channel SACD
2 Points:
For everyone that got on the Santana bandwagon after the rave reviews of Supernatural with all of the "star" duos back in 1999....Unless you've gone back and listened to the early albums between 69 and 76...You haven't heard Santana. IMO nothing done lately compares to the Latin, Rock, Jazz, Blues combination that was Santana's sound in the early days.
And for everyone that says SACD is not worth the effort or the $....You don't know what you're missing!
Obviously, I REALLY enjoyed this CD tonight!

I couldn't agree more. While the recent stuff is pretty dang good, the classic stuff is phenomenal in comparison.Originally posted by shack

Ludwig von Beethoven's Fifth Symphony as played buy the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
I smell ass, burning ass, glowing cherry red spanked ass.
RT1
Isn't a chamber orchestra a bit small to be tackling the 5th?
Robert was decent, but I have a problem watching 60 year-old rockers...
Now up Led Zep "Remasters" on headphones...

Let's see, umm: I'm listening to Acappella, singing Beach Boys, and looking for my Phillips Craig and Dean CD. Then it'll be Alan Jackson, Billy Joel, and Alabama. Eric Clapton Unplugged!!!
Today's home office selections have been:
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Police - Every Breath You Take SACD (god I hate the frickin' surround mix, but the 2 channel sounds fantastic)
Grand Funk Railroad - Good Singin, Good Playin' (vinyl)
Drive By Truckers - Decoration Day
Fleetwood Mac - Mr. Wonderful

I bought this one for the sole purpose of giving the multi-channel format another shot. I already have all the other Police albums on SACD single layer. Woody hit the nail squarely on the head. I'm done with MC.Originally posted by woodyjacobs
