Roy Buchanan (with the Snakestretchers) - Roy Buchanan
1972, Polydor PD 5033, LP
"John's Blues" wrings out about every note and tone available from a Tele and was the obvious preamble to his later cover of "After Hours". I'm not a country fan--but, if it all had this kind of vitality, I would be. Good stuff.

Harvey Mandel - Games Guitars Play
1970, Philips PHS 600-325, LP
Another treasure from my friend George. Harvey has been a favorite with me since his early 70's work with Mayall. This album has a lot of the same vibe.

My wife bought 2 Michael Bublé CDs for me for Valentine's Day. I hadn't heard of him, but I'm impressed. We'll be seeing him in concert next Saturday night.

Sarah McGlachlin "Afterglow".
Vedy, vedy nice sounds.... ;)
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
"The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to good analogue reproduction". - Kenneth Swauger
Hopefully, your system can keep up with Anne. :D

It's time for a reunion concert now that the name use lawsuits have been settled.
Jimi Hendrix - The Complete Winterland Concerts-bootleg.
Can't believe there is a blizzard going on here in Illinois. 5 inches already and another 3-6 on the way. Blowing, sleeting and generally nasty. Thought I'd throw in some Hendrix jams and enjoy the forum this afternoon. ;)

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass

Jimi Hendrix - Cherokee Mist- studio outtakes
Great quality alt. and unreleased versions of songs, partial songs and jams. Hendrix and his associates were genius's. Most of this stuff is so far ahead of it's time it's not funny. The fun with Hendrix's music beyond his commercial hits is just listening to endless jams. How they develop, meander and unfold is pure magic. This is true music without all the excess and pressure. Free flowing, from the soul.

With the Paul Butterfield Blues Band feat. Al Kooper and Elvin Bishop
April, 9, 1968 at Generation Club in New York City
NOT officially released, brief release on Klondyke [sic] Records
A blues fan's heaven.
Set list:
1. Like a Rolling Stone
2. Blues Jam #1 (Part 1)

4. Band Introduction by B.B. King
5. Blues Jam #2 (Part 1)
6. Blues Jam #2 (Part 2)
7. Blues Jam #3
8. It's My Own Fault
Fantastic historical document. I had to laugh because BB King states at one point he's 42 years old and he can do what he wants. 1968 seems like a long time ago. It's hard to believe he's 82 today. This was when Jimi was playing on the "chittlin' circuit". He used to jam with a lot of people before he became "famous".
