    Jimmy D. Lane - Legacy
    1998, APO (import), CD

This one has kinda' grown on me. The vocals seemed a bit edgy and arhythmic until I got comfortable with his style. It features the last studio performance by his Dad, blues legend Jimmy Rogers.

On vinyl! Nitty Gritty up and running, TT up to snuff, dialed in and it sounds absolutely wonderful! You can definitely hear the recording limitations of that era.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to good analogue reproduction.

I've seen him in concert a few times but the one that sticks out the most is that the guy and the Mothers performed for 5 hours with just one break. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. LOL! I was exhausted after the concert, imagine what they felt like.

C'mon, Joe, you know they're worth the effort. I've only got Hot Rats and Apostrophe on vinyl, but they both sound pretty good.

When I was 13 my uncle pissed my mom off royally when he gave me a mixed tape of Zappa stuff; had Broken Hearts are for *******s, Bobby Brown, all the offensive ones on it.

Red Sparowes. I've really gotten into them and Explosions In The Sky again as of late. This "post rock" instrumental music is perfect for head heavy work.

I just burned some Robin Trower, Frank Marino, SRV, Muddy, Buddy, B.B., and Mountain.
the rest of the time, it's 'bluesville' on xm.
Just discovered Joe Banamasa's 'Burning Hell' as I was writing this and had to CRANK IT!

Luther Allison - Bad News Is Coming
    1972, Gordy G9462, LP

The high notes he can wail, best evidenced on the title cut of this album, are super human. His cover of "Cut You A-Loose" is, IMHO, the difinitive version.
