    Good afternoon and TGIF group...

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas... I fought a cold from last Thursday until yesterday, and I'm finally back to 100% today... I hardly ever get sick, and was just bragging about it last week a couple of days before I started coming down with a cold... With last week being out last to work together, I got a lot of good hugs from the ladies, and half of them were sick, so I guess I must have gotten it from one of them...

My search for the perfect bookshelf for me continues, the LSi7's have been returned, they just didn't quite do it for me... They are a fine speaker, but they are a bit too laid back for my taste... And after a couple of weeks I realized that my little Onkyo integrated amp wasn't the best match for them after all, and couldn't do them justice...

I am now auditioning a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RX1 speakers, in rosenut finish... I have 2 weeks to try 'em out, and I'll be putting them through extensive listening this weekend... I can already tell that they are more to my liking than the LSi's, and a better match for my amp...

Good evening, Rick. I have that Mississippi Magic album on my list. How is the audio quality of that one? IIRC, it got placed on my list of things to get because of the music but if it just sounds "OK" and not superb, I'll start off with the RB CD. I haven't heard Terry Evans before. Hopefully the tunes will delight.

    Congrat's on the new speakers.

I think it sounds very good. I had never heard of Terry Evans before either, but then I saw the SACD while searching Amazon one night. Based on the reviews and listening to samples of the songs, I pulled the trigger. I have no regrets at all, the music is great, and it sounds great (IMHO). I play it often...

It is already quite apparent, the Monitor Audio speakers are a much better match with the little Onkyo than the LSi's. I don't like to say too much until I have logged at least 50 hours or so on a set of speakers, but I'm pretty pleased with what I'm hearing so far...

Thanks, Rick. I'll go ahead and get the SACD instead of the RB.
