Happy Birthday Red House Records, their 30th! Greg Brown started this label and now his daughter Pieta, The Pines (Bo Ramsey's son's band, Pieta's Husband and Greg Brown's right hand man for years), Hot Tuna and many other great musicians are on the label. A real American success story. "A Nod To Bob," a compilation of Red House artists' covers for Dylan's 60th Birthday, is pretty damn good. Anybody who has not seen The Pines or Pieta Brown in concert owe it to themselves to do so.

R I P Alvin. You will be missed.
Good evening group... I hope everyone had a good day... I had the best one I've had in a while myself, as it was the day I've been waiting 3 months for... I went and got the motorcycle out of storage today... I removed the rear wheel and had my new tire installed, and put on new chrome belt and pulley covers... I took it for a brief ride afterwards, and it felt great to ride again!! Now, time to get her all shined up and ready to go for the season... Anyhow, I just played Joss Stone's greatest hits, time to pick another one out....

I was so impressed with the Onkyo Integra home theater amp I picked up on Craigslist the other day, that I decided to integrate it into my main setup for further evaluation. If it continues to impress as much as it has already, it may just stay there. In particular, the phono section sounds much better than I had expected, and that was my biggest concern. I had some very good AV receivers back in my home theater days, and none of them sounded this good as a 2 channel amp. I suppose much of this is due to the fact that this was their top of the line model back in 1996, retailing for $3000 (almost twice as much as any I previously owned), so it no doubt has some quality parts inside, and it has a heck of a large power supply. I can't believe I snagged it for only $60, it is a beast of an amp, weighing in a 46.3 lbs. When I purchased it, my intention was to sell it for a small profit, but I think it's too good to let go, especially since it has a of of dated technology (no HDMI/DTS HD-Master/Dolby True HD, etc.), and likely not much value. As a good old fashioned 2 channel amp, however, it is well worth hanging on to...
Anyhow, I haven't played this one in a while (recycled photo):

Really enjoying that Integra, eh Rick? When I got the 9.1, it quickly became my best 2 channel piece. My system's improved since then, but I still respect the build quality/sound of the unit. At $60, I think its a definite keeper. You can't find anything worth a damn in that price unless you get really, really lucky.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I wasn't even looking for an amp, I was just browsing Craigslist as I often do. However, in my neck of the woods there are hardly ever any good deals to be had on audio equipment. I get a bit envious when I see all the good deals others who live in more populated areas get, then post on these forums. Finally, my turn came...![]()
