It is one of those events in life that I will always remember where I was when I heard the news. I was 14, and I was at my childhood best friend's house when the news broke on the television. His mother started crying uncontrollably, and did not stop for at least 10 minutes...

Also taking place on this date in music history in 1969:

During the Who's performance of their rock opera Tommy at Woodstock (specifically, during the instrumental "Underture") activist and hippie leader Abbie Hoffman leaps on stage, grabs the microphone, and yells "I think this is a pile of s**t, while John Sinclair rots in prison!" (Sinclair, a fellow activist, had been sentenced for ten years for two marijuana joints.) Pete Townshend, not knowing who Hoffman is, hits him over the head with his guitar and orders him to "**** off my ****ing stage!"

Thought Pete knocked him into the pit!! I'm puttin on Live At Leeds to commentate that...listened to Woodstock yesterday. I was in the kitchen with my wife when the neighbor ran over and told us about Elvis...think she cried on my shoulder for a half an hour and didn't stop for a week..Elvis did have fanatical fans...

I think I remember hearing that as well.

I will likely watch the Ultimate Collectors Edition of Woodstock on Blu-Ray either tonight or tomorrow.

Last July, I took a motorcycle trip to Bethel and the site of the Festival. It was one of the best trips I have taken in my life! However, I did not really have enough time to take everything in as I'd have liked. Afterwards, I said I was going to go back this year (preferably for my 50th birthday last month). It didn't work out, and I've been waiting for the weather to improve so I can take the trip. Since the week of my birthday and the hot/humid weather we were having at the time, the weather has been almost fall-like. It looks like next week summer weather will be returning, and I'm hoping to make the trip...

Check out a box set called The Woodstock Expierence. The Johnny Winter and Jefferson Airplane sets on that are very good! I think they made that old site into a kind of memorial. It will still be there for ya! Think I'll get out my copy of The Kids Are Allright...lots of good Who cuts on that double LP!

''Halo of Flies'' is probably my favorite tune Alice does. When you order Killer, best to get ''Love it to Death '' also. Which i'm playing now.

I snagged a SGT Peppers PCS 7027 (Stereo Parlophone) the other day for $20

The cover is VG+ and the Vinyl in NM not a mark nor a snap crackle or pop... has the cutouts and all... Anyone a Beatles vinyl guy (or gal) that could weigh in on this nugget? ANy real value?
