Duke Robillard Band - Turn It Around
    1990 - Rounder Select - B00000035C, CD

Released after Duke's highly successful touring with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, this has the T-Bird groove and harmonies. Susann Forrest's backing and lead vocals are excellent. Good stuff, Maynard!

Dave Hole - Under the Spell
    1999, Alligator - ALCD4865, CD

Nicely done by the blues master from down under. If you think you've heard every 6-string slide lick out there, tune in to Dave. Masterful flat picked electric lead and slide played with the guitar horizontal like a lap steel. Tone out the wazoo.

My babe walks through and smiles at my while I listen to the music, and often sits and joins me. That saves me all the time of looking at that other thread and gives me more listening time. ;)

Just scored front stage tickets for Stanley Clarke tonight. Performance is in Feb. Same venue we saw Al. Sat close enough you could reach out and touch him. I'm stoked.

Just drug in from Shemika Copeland. Talented lady, mix was unbearably loud for the room. It'll take me two days to be able to enjoy listening to ANYTHING. :(

Levon Helm Band - Midnight Ramble Sessions Vol. 2
    http://levonhelm.com/store/product1.html

Borrowed this CD and DVD set from my brother-in-law.

Steamy set of blues and funky old-school soul/R&B recorded live with an audience in Levon Helm's Woodstock, NY studio. The CD has been in regular rotation since I got it, but haven't watched the DVD yet. It has a great live vibe and is captured superbly, as are all recordings from this studio.

Guest musicians include Johnnie Johnson, Jimmy Vivino, Dr. John, Sean Costello, and others.

It's playing in my basement right now, and I'm upstairs on the computer. Gotta go and get my groove on.
