Just wrapped up my first pass at a new to me CD from Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Skynyrd's First: The Complete Muscle Shoals Album". Have to say I was very impressed. Very good stuff musically and SQ-wise... Yes, the version of "Free Bird" you know is better than this earlier one, but this is not your typical "alternate takes" disappointment.
Stumbled across it surfing BMG, and the AMG review sold me. If you are a LS fan, give it a shot...
More later,

Eagles of Death Metal - Already Died.
It's been stuck in my head for a couple of days now. I have no idea why my head chose that song. It's there when I wake up and it's there when I go to sleep. It's a good song but there are better on the album.
Eagles of Death Metal is a Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age side project. It's some great foot stomping and head boppin Rock and Roll.

Started the day with my Polktoberfest winnings... Steely Dan "Gaucho" MFSL Gold... (thanks, F1)
To paraphrase Robert Duval, "I love the sound of 'Gold' in the morning. It sounds like Victory."
Moved onto to Supertramp "Breakfast in America"... nice...
Played "Genius of Love" track off Tom Tom Club's self-titled to avoid a gap... gettin' the blood pumpin' now...
Now spinnin' a wife request, "World Clique" by Dee-Lite... Cranked it up so RuSsman can hear it in Dallas... :D

Wife request... yeah right. :p
No matter how cheesy it is, I've always liked Groove is in the Heart. Wait a minute... Did I just admit that?It must be the funky beat.
Actually it was a WR....
If you like "Groove...", you'd love the CD. IMO "Groove.." is around the 2nd weakest track on the disk... Pure fluff, pure fun... Best CD cut-out-bin buy I've ever made...
PM me, if you like...
Now playing... Audience's "Lunch".... because it's that time...

I heard this band for the first time this last Saturday and immediately picked up two of their three albums. Check them out if you get the chance.

Well, I guess I'll have to pick it up and give it a try. It's $10 at the local big box store.
Lately, I've been absolutely hooked on The Beastie Boys for their funky instrumentals. Hello Nasty got me started and I had to pick up a few others.
Some mp3's.
I can't put my finger on it but they remind me of something familiar.

Good choice with Harvest Moon, one of my favourites. :)
It was my birthday yesterday and lit one up with a whole lot of shooters and woke up feeling surprisingly fine.
I've got Hotel California playing.
Awake now... and spinnin' "The Home Team" as they are known 'round he-yah... (For the rest of you it's ZZ TOP)...
Side note: I hit Dusty's house one time with an errant tee shot... 4th hole of the "La Quinta" course at Quail Valley CC SW of H-town in Missouri Ciity, TX.

Wired in the new additions and went through most of my Yes catalog... "The Yes Album", "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge"...
Then Flim and the BB's "Tricycle".
Now hittin' "The Best of War"... (Oh, Seeesko)
These little effer's just won't quit...
