I know there's been a number of threads on vibration control including vibrapods.
Recently, I moved all my gear into a built-in "cubby". I'd always heard wall-mounted shelves provide the best isolation for turntables etc...so I figured I would have great isolation for all my gear. The cubby was big and open, so I put my gear on a three-shelf Sanus rack. Turns out the built-in isn't very isolated after all. Throw on some vinyl...the boys start dancing...skippity do.
I had one set of #2 vibrapods already so I threw them under the TT, and it improved significantly. So I said what the heck and ordered a few more sets.
Just arrived and installed...
- - The one #2 set under the TT
- - A #2 set under the Oppo
- - A #3 set under the Anthem
- - A #5 set under the feet of the Sanus
Dance, step, light stomp...no skips.
Only when I stomp hard or jump was there any issues with the TT at all.
Haven't had a chance to do critical with the Oppo to see if there's a difference, but I feel a lot better about the whole situation.
