I would also go to the website for Audioquest and look at there listings, and also go to Audio Advisor and click on brands and then AudioQuest and you can read about the different cables etc... even if you don't or can't buy from them.

Now some of their cables are for AA only like the "Black MAMBA'S II" and "Black Thunder" so you probably cant get them elsewhere.

I really like the look and price what I've read about the "Red River " IC's
    they use:
    Triple-Balanced Geometry
The three conductors in "Triple-Balanced" Red River cables ensure that whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the positive and negative signals have equally low-distortion conducting paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior conductor.

but thats just what I've read and haven't got any yet.

    Update,

Just picked up two 2M Evergreens, nice looking stuff. Can't wait to get them home and into the system. Cost me $40 each for the 2M pairs versus $35 per 1M pairs, allowing some wiggle room for possible future gear moves if the need arises for longer cables I'm covered for only $5 more per IC. Hope they work well with my equipment!

When I 1st got a Peachtree Decco 65 I used nothing but the Evergreen cables, after I went to a Vincent preamp & amp I got all new IC's, but when ever I use the Peachtree integrated amp I still use it with the evergreens are they been a really nice paring and I am very happy with them (hence why I have kept them all along).

Hrm definitely was told about burn in but these sounds pretty danged good to me right off the bat. Only a few hours on em but the slight top end compression is gone. Sounds quite a bit effortless compared to the original ICs. Love the build quality and how they are just the right firmness plugging into the components. Gonna put some hours on them but so far, so good. This store happens to carry AQ power cables too...but that's down the road a bit...

    Absolutely....couldn't agree more.

I've been around the block many times on budget cables, some may add some benefit, while subtracting from other areas of the musical spectrum. The real solid performers IMHO don't happen until you get around 100 bucks for IC's...on the used market.....or north of that.

nbrowser, glad you are off to a good start with the Evergreens. I have sense upgraded from mine but am probably going to hang on to em since they are definitely a good cable for the money.

Good cable for the money is bang on, that said however we'll see how they sound after 50-100 hours of burn in, which they are doing right now at home while I'm at work with the CDP and AVR on and an iPod feeding audio, amp isn't on but the volume is up enough to pass electrical signals through the cable. Wish I had a cable cooker to speed the process but I have a way in any event.

hrm lets see, excluding soundstage for a few moments here, after some burn in, my findings, yeah the slight top end compression is definitely gone. Bass sounds a bit tighter, more controlled and a bit more of it (no complaints there). Speakers sound like they look, classy and proud. Can't say I hear that RTiA brightness anymore either, and yes I did non-blind A/B with the smooth operators, my Monitor 5s (damn should hear those on a HCA-1200II but I digress). For $90 this was probably the "cheapest" upgrade in the system and one that worked out. Yes folks I am now FULLY aware that everything in the chain matters, from the source to the speaker.

Ummmm I've been toying with the idea of a tube buffer between AVR and amp...like I said, toying with the idea is all. No commitment yet...but doing my research quietly.

Just my .02, but a tube buffer I don't believe will do you much good. As long as you already tamed those sharp high notes on the 7's, the money would be more useful towards a tubed pre.

Some of us old farts get off watching guys like you experience stuff along the way as your system evolves. Kinda throws all those misconceptions out the window when you can experience this stuff for yourself. Having those WTF moments is cool....not only for you, but us too. Start saving your box tops for a tubed pre....a decent tubed pre, you may have to add Dskip to your Christmas card list.

I too have debated a tube buffer, but have been told to go for a tube pre instead. If you MUST get a tube buffer from what I understand its made more of a difference when installed between the source and the pre, than between the pre and the amp.

Myself I am looking into the possibility of a Dared SL2000 or stepping up to the next model Dared (if I ever go the tube route).

I am too happy with my SS power, moreso now that I snagged a HCA-1200ii for my infinity's.

Havent really tested it tons just yet. The RS-II's are still in their stock form (i.e. bubble wrap surrounds) and as such I dont want to crank them too much. Once I get them refoamed and all the EMIT tweeters working (need to do a bit of soldering) then I will have a better idea.

May try it on my LSi 15's downstairs but it wont fit in my rack so it would have to go above it which is a big no no in my house .

The Parasound is a tad on the warm side of neutral, and the LSI's are a tad laid back, not so sure of a good match there. One can only try for themselves though.

They have a Carver M1.0t that they live with normally thats a fine match, and it goes with my other Carver amp as well.....

I may try it for giggle when my wife is out, but thats about it honestly.

The Parasound was intended to drive the RS-II's from the get-go and should serve that purpose well.

I think this weekend I might try my pair of Onkyo towers on the back end of the Parasound for kicks...won't be able to crank the living daylights out of em as they are "only" rated for 135W @6 Ohms but hey, I like to experiment now as it's been more fun trying something than to wonder.

Ok I'm seriously a convert, gonna pick up 3 runs of Evergreens for my truck system...yes I said 3...Front, Rear and Sub preouts from the deck to two amps. I'm sure it's worth a shot.

I use a AudioQuest Forest USB cable to hook up my PC to my DAC, which is green and I think is just a evergreen version of their digital cables. they also have Forest HDMI cables also! just trying to help you send your money there :) GO GREEN!!

they also have a Vodka HDMI (russian maybe?) 1 meter is like $300 ouch!
