    Default Yamaha A-1000 integrated amp?

Iv'e been offered a Yamaha A-1000 integrated amp and Denon TU-450 tuner for sale, but I'm not sure what to offer. Does anyone know what these might be worth if anything? The Yamaha is rated at 140wpc and was sold in 1985. Thanks.

I checked on the BlueBook section of AudioGon and the A-1000 has an average used price of $200.00 and the last one sold on AudioGon went for $170.00. The TU-450 had an average of $90.00 and the last sale was for $60.00.

Of course you will need to determine the overall condition of the units available as the Bluebook only states the prices paid but not the condition of the units.

Thanks for the pricing info. From what I can tell the Yamaha was their totl integrated during that time.

Here are some specs I found on this one.

120 watts per channel into 8 ohms and over 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Rated Maximum distortion is .005 im and .003 thd. Up to full power from 20hz to 20khz. It has two phono inputs, one for a moving coil type cartridge and the other for a moving magnet or a second moving coil type. Phono input has selectable input impedance and capacitance loading. Phono signal to noise is 94 db. Has inputs for two phono, two aux, dat, tuner, tape 1 and tape 2. Variable loudness and tone control bypass. The amp is switchable to auto pure class A operation at lower power levels then auto-switches to class ab at higher levels. Original price new in 1985 was $1000! That was alot of dough back then.

Actually sounds like a pretty nice piece of equipment for that time frame. I'll check and see what he wants for this one, maybe someone else on this forum would have a use for it. Thanks.

    Default Update

Well he wants $200 for the amp and $50 for the tuner. Package deal at $200. He does say they are in "Excellent condition", but I'm going to pass. If anyone here is interested though, I could check them out and if nice enough would take care of shipping them. From what Iv'e read the amp runs in class A up to about 20 watts output, and runs very warm. Seems some have had problems with this one, so keep that in mind.
