Default Had to return the Yamaha RXV-1....

I purchased the Denon AVR-2803 instead. Everyone says Denon is the way to go with Polk speakers, but, I don't know. It just didn't sound very good to me...I think even my Yamaha RXV-430 sounded better. Should I return it for the Yamaha RXV-1300, or should I just try to get used to this "warmer" sound? Thanks...

I prefer the Yamaha sound personally. Take a look at the RXV1400 or 2400.

IMHO the components in the line from source to speaker should ideally add nothing and not take anything away.

Rather than listen to opinions here, LISTEN to the gear, what sounds best to YOU is what sounds best. Try it in the store with speakers not unlike the ones you have at home and if at all possible then try it at home, preferably from places that don't have restocking fees.

I prefer the yammies too. Like Wannabie said let your own ears be the guide. By the way, my girlfriend said my opinion quit mattering years ago.:(

Thanks for the input. I think I will return it for the Yamaha RXV-1400. I really, really loved the RXV-1, but my wife and I decided it was a little too costly for us right now. She said maybe next year I can move into seperates...maybe...
