    Default Back at home.....

I'm finally back home after my two week trip to Jersey. On the way back I was fortunate enough to meet up with F1Nut and Mark at F1's house (COOL house btw). We BS'd and listened to gear until the wee hours of the morning, I FINALLY got to experience SDA in all of it's glory, more on that later but suffice to say I REALLY dig SDA. Mark and Jesse got to experience the DQ-10's (on Marks ultra cool gear, Mark has the ultimate he-man amp) and I think were pretty impressed by them. Anyhow, I had a TERRIFIC time and I can't thank those two enough for their hospitality.

While I'm at it, I'd be remiss if I didn't also thank Micah for the lap dance, warlocks (the AR's are REALLY cool and MINT) and last but certainly not least George and his lovely family. I still can't believe George swapped me the Dyanco's for the Carver Receiver, I honestly feel guilty over that.

You guys ALL rock and I'm humbled by the showing of hospitality and so forth that everyone has extended to me.

We also discussed the upcoming Polkfest at my place, Columbus Day weekend in October, write on your calendars and look out for more posts on that subject.

I always try to observe Columbus Day in Portugal, so I probably won't make it either.

You gave ME the $3 speakers, I gave YOUR WIFE the $590 receiver. Never forget that.

I'll be observing Columbus Day in church...getting hitched. So I guess that means you can't come to the wedding then, huh George?

We had a blast, Troy is a great guy and welcome here anytime.

I was pleased to finally get demo with the DQ-10's, they have a open-airy quality about them that was nice. They lacked a real bottom end and didn't have much of a center image, but cool speakers none the less. We had a mix of interconnects and piss poor 16 ga Rat Shack speaker wire, so I'm sure they would have done better with proper cables.

Anyway, the company was great, the steaks were big and the tunes sweet. What more can you ask for!!!

    George,

I have that written down on my left forehand and rest assured that piece will never leave Wendi's rig. Matter of fact, she just bought a nice frame for your 8x10 glossy picture to put on top of the receiver.

    Jesse,

I think if you play with the placement and so forth with the DQ's you will find that they image quite well actually at least that has been my experience with them but yeah, they are neat speakers. Certainly not lease breakers but the sins are sins of omission rather than commission.

    Jstas,

Man, I hate that you won't be able to come down and I'm bummed we didn't get to meet up in Jersey but I'll be back that way and I wish you all the best in your nuptual evdeavors!

    Thumbs up DQ10 + CTC + Anthem + SonyES

I really was impressed by how good they sounded. The hype is certainly well deserved. I was actually pleased with the bottom end, but the highs were variable to my ears. I mean in that they really extended at times, and then sounded vieled in others, it was weird.

I am very happy to have them, and will start breaking them up to clean and upgrade as soon as I am able.

    Thumbs up AR3(TroyD's)

This was a neat speaker, cabinets were absolutely flawless....the coolness factor is very high on these puppies. It sound pretty good, nothing crazy, it was just nice to check them out and give them a listen.

    DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!

Guys, I really wanted to get together with all of you this past weekend, but my schedule with day work, part time DJing and starting back in college is simply nuts!

Troy, Columbus weekend in October sounds like a plan man! Just tell me where to point the Explorer and i'm there. NO, I'm not bringing any strippers with me! I couldn't handle a 6-8 hour drive with them babbling on mindlessly about stupid ****! Although, I guess if I would be carpooling with Mark and Jesse, I'm likely to get mindless babbling from them. Jeez, I can't win!

    Glad you guys had fun.

John - I thought you knew he was coming back on Friday, from the other forum thread. I should have called you, but I was lazy. We wanted to jailhouse rape him all by ourselves, you would have just gotten in the way :D

Carpool sounds great, you two drive, and I will drink beer, and vomit into a shotglass the whole way down.

Did anyone notice the new "Pimp" diamond that Jesse just had installed on his tooth?

Troy, I agree that placement of the DQ-10's probably would have helped, we didn't really play around with that for some reason. I think you and Mark were too full of steak and just being lazy. ;)

Mark, just wait 'til I get some pics of you on here......lol. Payback is a bi*ch.

John, bro you're welcome anytime, hell we're only 30 minutes or so apart. Bring some of the girls with you. :D

LOL... not at first. I was too busy trying to figure out who Troy looked like... Then it hit me, a slightly pale Colin Powell...

Looking at the picture of the DQ's it's not too surprising there was little center stage...

October in SC, huh... Still should be golfing weather...

Was this the site of Micah's imfamous Lap Dance? That could explain the hands and the smiles!
