    Default LC80i & NAD T753 Question

    Hello all,

I am leaning towards buying a pair of LC80i ceiling speakers, but I am starting to wonder if that is overkill. I have a pair of LSi9s in front along with the matching center channel. The room is about 20' long by 12' wide, 7' ceilings. I'm planning on initially powering this system with the NAD T53 receiver, it delivers 70w/channel.

I guess 2 questions. Is the NAD enough and do I really need the LC80is or should I get the LC60is?

Thanks for any help you can provide. :)

    Matt

yes NAD is enough, and wether you need the 80i's is up to you. you should demo them both and decided if the difference in sound is worth the difference in price

Only if it's capable of driving a room full of 4ohm speakers.

    did you mean the t753?

    frank,
it is capable of powering 4 ohm speakers ( if he meant the t753). infact they even give spec for it at 2 ohms. 70 watts is a conservative rating. i dont think it would have a problem with powering lsi's to a tolerable level, they may not be at their peak performance but oh well

its ok. the 70 wpc is a conservative rating. the dynamic rating for it at 4 ohms was 200 i think. i dont think you will have a problem powering them.
