hell yes it'll sound great -- u're not gonna use all that power... u'll only dump maybe 400-ish on it at most, but it'll be fine, be loud, and kick the **** outa most other subs on the market today.
i've owned like 10 or so dx subs in my time... it's crazy ****.

well my gnx's sound pretty good, but i want something new. the amp i have is a power acoustik LT980/2. It does 220x2 @4ohms, 280x2#2 ohms, 560x1 bridged at 4 ohms, and 980 max bridged....
that'll be fine on the dx sub -- i freakin hated the gnx and gxr subs -- a disgrace to polk -- polk isbetter than that -- and they have made good on it with the revamping of the momo sub line -- the beefy 10 and 12" momo's stay and in comes some more lighter power 8 10 12 and 15" subs that bring back the "polk-ness" of the old db and dx subs... tickles my heart.
if i can sell the idmaxes / 81000d's then i'm gonna get an 800 - 900 watt good quality class AB and run two of the MM2104's off it. slammy slammy, punchy punchy....and wont take up too much space either... which'll make me happy.

well i got the DX12, $68.50 with tax, now i just need to build a box for it, and find where exactly i wanna put it. it is going in a 92 camry. i was thinking i could build a box to sit kinda "flush" with the side i guess you could say, like behind the wheel well, but when i measure everything out, and its too much touble, ill go with a more simple box, what would be a nice way to cover the box, and where could i get a decent grill for the sub?
get the same color carpet as your trunk to cover it

i just need a grill for the damn thing now...and ill pass on the plain black ones...
the kicker comp VR grille with the "teeth" is nice lookin and should fit just about any 12" sub.
if the momo grille will fit, that'll be cool too.

how long should i break it in for? and is there a way to go about breaking it in that is maybe better or easier...
play it at 1/4 to 1/2 volume for 2 weeks.
then slam the **** out of it.
the dx subs really DO need a break in period.

yes, you will get great sound out of your dx. I have 2 DB12's which are older versions of the DX. I was running 700w total for them... shakes the living crap out of you. Then my friggin amp blew up (Kicker DX700) NOW i run my emergency 4 channel kenwood bridged to 2x150w. It still gets a LOT of response.
Oh... if anyone has an old 700-1000w amp lying around... My 6x9's want that little kenwood back (Bass comes first :D )
