    Default Van Helsing

Just got back from the theater...

I'd rate this an 8 out of 10. The visual effect and cinematography were beautiful, and it had a good soundtrack and effects. The movie is beautiful to look at and listen to.

The sotry got a little cheesy at times, but overall a good movie.

i agree, the movie was cheesy at many different times but the special effects made up for it.

there might be a nice bass track in it too, when frankenstiens monster is being zapped and the green cloud of electrical current or whatever flows through the castle it seemed like it was supposed to be deep bass. i was watching it at the drive in movie tho and it was with stock subaru speakers so i couldnt tell if it was really deep or not.

it was a fun movie, if u like to count bullets then dont go see if because its just going to piss u off. if u are actually still able to enjoy movies without them making 100% complete sense then go see it, it's fun.

YES, Blade3 is in the works..... Huge Fan.
Watched my 2nd Movie Theater flick of the year. Helsing was alot of fun - great sound "for a theater". The cheese was laid really thick a few times. Great flow, tons of action and digital eye candy. Have to go to the theater a couple times a year - really makes me appreciate my HomeTheater. The picture quality and sound quality of the movie theater don't even come close to my HT.:D

Good to hear Van Helsing is an enjoyable film, the trailers looked like it would be. I'll buy the DVD. As for Blade, enjoyed the first, the second was just OK. Hopefully with a third in the works they'll do a better job.

I thought the Mummy was an excellent movie. Again, I'm sure it was lacking in story depth, character development, blah blah blah blah who cares...it was fun...

I don't give a rats ass about all that crap the critics look at, I just wanna be entertained...

I like cheesy movies from time to time, makes things interesting...

I thought The Mummy was excellent as well.

Sometimes people just need to sit back and enjoy the ride. This looks to be one of those movies, a fun ride.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie like a 23/100. I knew I would enjoy it. I watch movies for the entertainment value. Many don't and that is sad.
Helsing made almost 52 million this weekend by the way.

My point exactly. Strange how people go to the movies just because. I went because I like gothic - horror - vampire flicks. Not because thier was no competition.
I'm glad people will support a movie just because they have nothing better to do - that way the production companies will keep making movies to disgust boring movie critics, make a profit and bring them home to my HT.:D

Cornball and cheesy - and I'm a big fan of this genre.

Could have been far superior had it taken itself half seriously. Needed a more adult oriented and mature/sinister theme and better character development. Underworld was far better.

I thought special FX and CGI were excellent, which makes the lack of substance all the more disappointing.

I just got done watching Underworld. What a terrible movie. By comparison Van Helsing must be the worst movie ever. Thanks for the heads up.

Agreed, and that is a perfect example of the horrendous casting in Underworld. That guy as my waiter at The Olive Garden, yes. As a vampire? Hell no.

I liked both movies - if you didn't like them then you need to find another genre of movies. I mean come on - Really!
Can't remember that person in Underworld - i think they were all pretty good for what it was.
    NOW -----------
The guy that played Dracula in Van Helsing was one of the worst acters/casting in movie history. He looked liked Pee Wee Herman.
    Almost ruins the whole movie.
