Question How easy is it to tell...

....whether a SRS speaker has the sl 3000 tweeter or the sl 2000 tweeter?

How important is the original crossover cable?
    What does it do exactly?
Can you buy something that would work as well?

Having the original cable is not super important, new ones can be made. Some here have made them and/or have instructions on how to make them. The cable facilitates SDA, read here ... http://www.polkaudio.com/home/produc...=274&vintage=1 and here http://www.polkaudio.com/home/techno...y=3&speaker=82

    Default thanks Rick!

Just what I needed to know.

So if I'm understanding this right, the connector is used when using separate amps without a common ground to drive each speaker?
