Subwoofer problems need to remove

My System:
yamaha rx v1300
rti4 fronts
csi3 center
fxi30surrounds
psw202 sub
The problem is that the subwoofer has to go in the entertainment center because there is no room for it anywhere else. I have to pull it out and put it on the floor if I turn it up at all. there is absolutely no other place to put it due to wiring, power placement, small space etc... Any suggestions on floorstanding speakers and no subwoofer?

best placement for a sub is in a corner.. but sounds like you are tight on space. the nice thing about your sub.. is that's it's pretty small.. you can also hide a sub under a end table. or under a coffee table.

place is next to your fronts if possible. or behind a couch or chair. behind a plant. get creative on placement options.

floor standing speakers are good too. but no where near what you can get from a seperate subwoofer.

Keep in mind.. if you go with powered towers or something like that... they require more amp power to run. Like the LSi line. so that would cost some $$ for an extra amp for those to be properly powered for best sound.

You have options.Boston Acoustics make inwall subs.there not the best on the market but for "nowhere to put one"they work well.

You could also get into Power monitors by Definitve Technology.Awsome sounding speakers.

Polk has powered towers.Look for the Rt1000p's,rt2000p's or newer models of the same.

In cabnet subs are hard to get to work unless the cabnet is designed for the woofer.Even then rattling is always a factor.Felt pads are in order.

Thanks, what if I sit the sub on some kind of foam or something? Has anyone tried that? I may give it a shot. thanks for the ideas. Sally
