The Monitor 30 looks like a speaker from Mission.

What are the MSRP on the Monitor series?

Well point being, They look like the new Rti line, and the old lines as well... kinda a mix of all... looks aside, driver compliment is the same... Bookshelves with 2 mids and a tweeter... towers with 2 mids and 1 woofer... alot of what people have been asking for.. Im looking forward to seeing and hearing them as well... they look nice, For now im getting in on the Lsi7's that are blowing out dirt cheap at Fry's... can't wait to try the Lsi's for the first time..

    I'm kinda dissapointed man...

I dont see alot of the technology Polk has put up on ALOT more cheaper speakers...

    ARC Port (Where is it?)
    Power Port (Where is it?)
Are they sealed? - Bookshelves (Rear firing port?)
    Cloth dome?
    Bylaminate Woofers?
    Explain ^^^
Are they real wood or vinyl?

At 900 a pair...I hope the Monitor 70 performs better than I imagine it will...

I was hoping for something more like the LS90 or w/e...with the midbass driver array..

    Not some RTi12 knock down?

Maybe I am just seeing it wrong?

Well holy shiat......I mean, I'd be disappointed in a speaker that has had a PIC ONLY posted on a website for less than 12 hours........a speaker that I haven't every physically seen, nor touched and that alone would make me pretty "disappointed" too....

Is it possible that perhaps you should wait until.........and just goin on a limb here......you actually see/hear them?

Paul told everyone to stop jumping to conclusions.....maybe a little sedative would be appropriate before dismissing a line that hasn't even hit the market yet people........

I really can't see Polk putting out a speaker that would sound bad, especally in the very stores that had the RTi's were sold. The looks are quite simmular to the RTi's with only minor changes, the average consumer will probably not even notice. I look forward to seeing and hearing them.

excited to see and hear them soon, i hope

you can't judge by a picture of the web, Im sure they used some other technology to make these... they all don't have to mimic the previous lines to be good.. IMO

    Default Polk reply

As I said on another thread, I will post a press release that details wat the Monitor line is all about. I'm aiming for Thursday. I also hope to have the product web pages up on Friday. The Monitor Series will sort of split the difference between the R Series and the RTi Series. The R50 is 2 6.5" drivers and a 1" tweet in a vented tower with a MSRP of $620 per pair. The Monitor 60 is 3 5.25" drivers with 1" tweeter in a WAY nicer looking enclosure for $650 per pair.

Different people have different expectations from loudspeakers. Some will pay more for real wood enclosures, some could care less. Some appreciate subtle improvements in imaging or tonal balance, some listeners would never hear the difference. Some appricate small size, for others the bigger the better. That's why we make different product lines that appeal to different listeners. It is hard for me to "take sides" between our various lines and products. Yes, I own LSi and think the world of them, but I am not like everyone else in the world (good thing for the world) and I can't honestly say that everyone should own LSi. I see a need and an audience for each of our product lines.

You guys might want to cool your jets on speculating about how Monitor will stack up against the products you know until you have at least looked at the product descriptions and specs. Frankly you should wait until you hear them before passing final judgement.
