Usually sound cutting out completely is a sign of a pinched or shorted speaker wire to chassis ground. Another thing to check is the power supply voltage feeding the headunit and the amplifier. It also could be that the amplifier simply can not keep up with the demand that is being placed on it. Is it going into thermal protection? Where is the amplifier located in
the vehicle? Who makes the amplifier and what is the power rating ? If you have any questions, give us a call at 800-377-7655 between the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern time and we will be glad to help.

    Thanks,
    Kim
