    Post Front speaker recommendations?

I currently have a setup which consists of the following speakers:

    Fronts: RT16
    Center: CS350
    Surrounds: LS/fx
    Sub: PSW650

I have an entertainment center and I'd like to replace the RT16 with a bookshelf size speaker which will sit inside the entertainment cabinet. The RT55i would be perfect, except it's about 1 inch too tall.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for a set of front speakers?

The receiver is a Sony-STRDA777ES, which drives around 100 watts /channel.

    Thanks,

    Phil

    Default I do

LSi9's! They're smaller than the RT55i's and sound oh so much better.

the LSi9 would be it, sounds like your only other option would be rt35i's to fit in the cabinet, but i think you would be losing alot of sound coming from rt16's...

take it form aaron, he's heard the LSi's...

Default hold on just a sec.....

I dunno if that receiver is the best match for the LSi9, power wise though...

Duh! I'm retarded! After writing that epic review of the LSi9's, how could I forget about power? You definitely need a separate amp for the LSi's.

The side sections of the cabinet (speaker area) are a fixed width and height (around 20"). Depth isn't a problem.

I was wrong about the rating of the receiver. It's rated 120 watts /channel (8 ohm). The receiver is also rated at 4ohms (I don't remember the exact wattage).

Would it still require a separate amp, given the receiver's rating?

    Thanks,

    Phil
