Default FS: Polk Audio RT5 $100.00 + Shipping

Item For Sale: Polk Audio RT5 Pair

Condition - Good, Scuffs and Scratches on the bottom.

    Finish - Black, Vinyl

    Drivers - 1" Polymer Dome, 6.5" midbass

    Wall Mountable

This Speaker is in great shape cosmetically, with scuffs and scratches on the bottom. I put sharpie in the scratches to aid it with the scratches, now not very visible if you plan to hang them on the wall.

This speaker also sounds awesome, probally one of the better Polk tweeters I have heard. If you listen to alot of acoustic guitar, etc - this is definetely your speaker!

    $90.00 + Shipping takes it!

If you don't work out something with Russ and you still have them in a month AND you come to the Polkfest, bring 'em with you and I'll buy them.

How well did these perform as centers?

I would like to swap out my Boston Acoustic Cr8 bookshelf that I use as a center with a Polk Bookshelf. Due to my console config, my center is aligned vertically below my TV. I've listened to the RXi38, but I don't think it's bright enough sounding to match the RTA11TL's in the front (although I do have the FXi30's in the rear, but I guess I'm going to live with the front/rear mismatch). So I've been considering trying a RTi35, but haven't seen any recently and have never heard them. Looks like the RT5 would be a possibility of working also. One thing that would be nice is that it is front ported and the center would be placed in a space that enclosed in the rear.

    Default Considering...

I had been thinking I would pick up some RT35i's, but I saw a lot of good things about the RT5 too. However, most of those good comments came from you. So, after being the primary RT5 champion for the last year or so, why are you selling these again?

Also, I'm only going to be able to use one bookshelf as the center. My only other choice is to turn a CS245i on its side. (space is only 18" high and about 12" wide) Did you ever run a single RT5 as a center?

I am selling all of my Polks, going all Definitive....

One RT5 would do well as a center, I havnt done it myself - but since it is a mono signal, it wouldnt make much of a difference, I would run both of them, but that is me.

The RT5 really is a fine speaker, very smooth, and very detailed...

    Default All looks good

These arrived shortly after Trey received my payment. My first impression of the box was that they could have airdropped it into my yard and the speakers would have survived.

I'll tell you I was nervous about how good of shape these were in due to the "bottom scratches". It was only medium light, but I had to look twice to even find them! Trey was super generous in his description, there was no chance for disappointment!

Only had a chance to listen for 5 minutes due to being out of town, but looking forward to getting them set up this week.

    Thanks Trey, super sale!

    That box was wild man....

I got several stares from people that have walked in and out of my house because how the box 'looked'. Very wild!

Glad they arrived well. Hope ya enjoy the speakers!

    - Trey

Post pics of the box... ;)

    Looking forwards to the review...
