cool..... I'd love to hear those RTA 12's.... but I think the monitor 12's would sound better. You don't happen to have a pic of those, do you?

Russ, I was not aware that they made a monitor 11. What year did they arrive in?

Not sure on the 11 production date, I'll look it up when I get home.

I always thought the 12 was a real looker, I'd love to have a pair.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Its a shame those are in the guys garage. I hope he lets them come inside for awhile.

He just happened to pick up on those 12s with some vintage 70's Luxman gear. I remember my first experience with SDA's was with that warm Luxman sound.

I have owned Polk since in both house & car.

Going on memory alone, the production of the Monitor 11 was 1985 or 1986.

    Default Hi Dennis

those Polk happen to be in My garage. My collection outgrew my house so I was "forced" to build a double garage. I only put one door on it though and a wall down the middle. so half the garage is used for nothing more than audio storage, mostly speakers but some albums, components etc. I moved them out to the vehicle side just for the picture.
So many speakers, so little time..

My wife always gets a kick out of the tons of gear I see here on clubpolk and AK. I have had as many as 5 HT setups in my house at one time and the "pile" of unused gear seems to grow every month. I am recently in the process of moving a couple of hours away and it took multiple truck and trailer trips to get my gear into the new house.

She has been great about it all, since she loves the sights and sounds it gives. I do have to constantly hear her talk about us men being older versions of the boys we once were, though.

    Keep up the collection!

I drove up to Memphis yesterday and picked up a pair of the Monitor 11's. I traded a Realistic STA-2000D for them I now have all three of these myself(Monitor10b's, Monitor 11's and RTA 12b's)
I can't seem to find much info on the 11's at all. Are these as rare as they seem?

Back in 1989 I tried to purchase a set of Monitor 11's but they where unavailable, so I settled for the 10B's instead all things considered the 10B's where excellent and once refurbished will be again.

Yes. I did realize how old the thread was. It came up when I searched. Thought it was cool that I had all three of the models in the pic.

At least now I know why I couldn't get the Monitor 11's. At the time I was purchasing my audio gear through the Base Exchange at AFB Warren here in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The M 11's where in the catalog but they where "out of stock" I remember the 12's but they where just a little more money then I had to spend at the time. If I could just go back in a time machine. The Polk, and AR speakers I would buy. Klipshorns where still available as a kit at this time, you ended up with a very plain plywood cabinet that sounded like the Glory of God when fed enough power.
