no but there is a dealer for HSU in TO..I know it's not SVS...
I looked into buying an SVS PB2+, however with the exchange rate, freight and customs problems I have been having with all electronic and audio gear I decided that it was not worth it. I would Love to own an SVS but I couldn't justify the cost. There is a guy from Calgary (he surfs this forum once in a while) that has an SVS PC series sub.... But that is all I know.
Looks like I will be talking to CSS in BC and Al Wooley @ Raw Accoustics to meet my Sub needs.
Al does some really nice work and he really knows his stuff. He can build you an awesome custom sub. I have had no problems dealing with Bob at CSS and they are going to be coming out with some really cool stuff in the near future.Originally posted by VE6OHV

what is this CSS you are talking about....
www.creativesound.ca It is a audio company in BC. They specialize is DIY audio kits from Adire Audio. They also have their own unique drivers and kits. Al Wooley at www.rawacoustics.ca does the designing of the kits for CSS. Check out their EZ sub kit for the Shiva.

You get nailed for taxes, duties and brokerage fees although I'm not sure if you can mark the package as a present or something so that you can get away with that.Originally posted by danger boy

When I finally decide to get a real sub I'm probably going to take an hour drive and pick up a rava from one of the 2 adire dealers in Canada. I got pretty lucky with the location cause I can drive and pick one up instead of shipping it.

The EZ sub kit for the Shiva should perform very similar to the SVS pci series. The SVS driver and the Shiva model almost exactly the same.

Yes, I ordered two PC-Ultra's from SVS for delivery in Canada (non Toronto area). No problems with customs. Shipping did have problems, but SVS customer service addressed all issues. First rate company.Originally posted by ancientpimp

Yes, yes, yes...was it worth it still?
Actually, the Rava is no longer available from the Canadian dealers. Only direct from Adire.Originally posted by michael_w

I tried by placing comments in another speaker thread. For my room, one PC-Ultra was outstanding, two is outrageous. My jaw still drops to the floor while listening to music.Originally posted by Dr. Spec

There are many threads mentioning low bass demo material. Most demo material is from movies; listening to these scenes (and watching the movie) is a remarkable experience with the SVS subs.
Liking classical music, I ordered a SACD copy of the latest Telarc recording of the 1812 Overture. This recording is truly outstanding in its detail and dynamic range (I listen to the two channel version); highly recommended if you like classical music. The ending cannon volleys of the Overture literally ‘rip’ through you for lack of a better term. You also hear all the micro dynamics of the cannon volleys; an astonishing experience, completely dwarfing any movie scenes I have heard.
I have taken this disc with me to the local shops and listened once again to the local sub offerings. Most have a problem with the low content and have a hard time reproducing any details (and I am being polite).
There is only one Bass Authority.
My jaw still drops to the floor while listening to music.

Email the guys at SVS to see what they think would be appropriate for your situation. Unfortunately, I have not heard the 'ISD' or 'Plus' drivers in action and can not comment on their particular sound in comparison to the ‘Ultra’ driver. Maybe someone who has owned/heard these drivers could comment.Originally posted by ancientpimp

You may want to look at the PB2-Plus for a larger room volume; appears to be the best 'bang-for-the-buck' of the line (was going to say 'boom-for-the-buck', but these subs do not 'boom').
will do, thanks all for great replies, hopefully in a couple o months i'll post a "jaw-dropping thread" like u folks :)Originally posted by jmierzur

Check my SVS reviews at HTF. My handle is "Edward J M" and the reviews are hotlinked in my signature block for convenience.
The TV-12 Ultra driver is king for SQ. It's also very expensive. The PB2+ IS the most subwoofer for the money, no doubt.
The PB2-Ultra was just announced in black at $1800 for a limited time only and then the price will go up a bit more, but will still be hundreds less than the wood finished version.
