    Default Help positioning Sub

I would like some comments on the positioning of a sub.
    I have a PSW450 unit.
We are planning on changing the layout of over "entertainment center". I am looking at a 50 inch LCD HDTV unit (Hitachi) and am a little cramped for space.
I am envisioning making a TV stand that can house the components (receiver, dvd etc) and the sub.
Will the sub in this close proximity of the other component create reliability issues?
Could I see visual artifacts on the screen due to the sub?
Is it a bad idea to "enclose" the sub?
how much free space should I have around the sub?

Another option is placing the sub near the right rear surrond speaker. Is this a bad idea?

    Any help/comments/pointers will be appreciated

If this isn't clear, I could post a picture.

This page might help you out a bit.

Most subs are not shielded and should be kept at least 2-3' from the TV. any closer and you'll mess up the picture.

I have a Polk PSW450, the article says that it is magnetically shielded. So I assume it is.
I am also looking at a LCD projection TV, I believe they are not susceptable to magnetic interference.
The article seems to say have it out in the open. Correct?

You do not want to enclose the sub - put it in the nearest corner about 3 to 4 inches from each wall.
PS3 and HD Front Projection, life is good. Too bad Blu-Ray and the PS3 are already obsolete.....
